Case study: Using Scenarios to Game Out Current Events
Four Scenarios for Aotearoa New Zealand beyond the fuel crisis
Kia ora Future Workshoppers!
We’re hoping to talk scenario development in an upcoming episode - it’s turning out to be one of the most interesting (and sought after) aspects of futures thinking.
In the mean time we wanted a share a project we’ve been working on which uses scenarios to imagine plausible futures for New Zealand beyond the current fuel crisis, and identify some key decision points along the way. As someone interested in strategic foresight tools you might be particularly interested in some of the methodology, detailed at the beginning and end of the document.
We’ve created this with an experimental mindset, portraying each scenario through the eyes of an individual, fictional, New Zealanders. The document is open source (conditions/restrictions can be found on the final page) so we encourage you to share and play around with it - even build on it! - in your own practice.
You can download “Four Scenarios for Aotearoa New Zealand” now from my website.
Thanks
